Laser Peels

Laser peels are great for reducing fine to deep set lines and wrinkles and to correct skin imperfections such as acne scarring and age spots. Peels are great for improving skin texture following Smoothlase treatment.

What can I expect during and after the procedure?

During the laser procedure, you will have a topical anesthetic in place for approximately 45 minutes prior to the erbium laser application. The laser peel involves applying an erbium laser energy to the skin, removes skin very precisely, layer-by-layer removing the outer layer of your skin – the epidermis – and heating the underlying layer, called the dermis. The laser stimulates the growth of new collagen fibers resulting in new skin that is smoother and firmer as the epidermis heals.

When the procedure is done, we will apply a thermal water to your skin. You will use thermal water and avoid thick creams to allow the skin to peel. The amount of downtime is dependent on the depth of the peel as well as your skin type (determined by a skin test prior to the procedure day). Minor peels can has downtime (redness ) as little as 24 hours with light peeling for the next week, and major peels can have downtime of a week (redness) followed by deeper peeling.
